Features
Engel, the original high-performance cooler, is roto-molded for toughness and durability. It’s filled with a full 50mm of insulation in the lid, on the sides, and on the bottom, helping to retain cold and ice for up to 10 days. The all-silicone gaskets create a near airtight seal that is durable and will never lose its shape.

I’m based in a pretty remote part of the Northern Territory, and as most people know, the weather up here can get very hot and humid, even when the rest of the country spends their winter’s rugged up. I’ve used the Engel chest fridge/freezers for close to 20 years up in the Northern Territory and also across in Cape York and just can’t fault them. For the past six months, I’ve been using the Engel 102 litre icebox (ENGEL123) primarily on my boat for my fishing and I have to say that I am very impressed with not only the build quality but also the fact that the esky does an excellent job in keeping the ice frozen and keeping my fish fresh through the day. Because of the insulation in the lid, sides, and bottom, I simply add the ice to my esky the day before I head out on the water and this works well to chill the esky down before I hit the water. At the end of the day, the ice slurry is still so cold that you can’t keep your hands in there for too long at all.
The item description mentions the silicone gasket that creates an almost airtight seal and I can certainly vouch for that as the esky seals so well that it makes it very hard to open the lid. I’ve never encountered an esky that seals this well.
